One Eleuthera Cooperative Credit Union Update – OECCU Now Accepting Deposits

On June 13, 2016, the One Eleuthera Cooperative Credit Union accepted their first deposit. This monumental step is the first of many towards making OECCU one of the best full service banking institutions in the Bahamas. The OECCU is now accepting deposits from its members.

The OECCU is a non-profit cooperative society in the savings and loan business. It is owned and operated by people who have joined together to save regularly and lend money to each other.

Cultivating Synergies Through Team Empowerment Workshop

Under the theme Cultivating Synergies through Team Empowerment, Michelle Miller, Life-Coach, Communications Expert and Empowerment Practitioner, facilitated a Team Empowerment Activity (TEA) workshop for junior members of the One Eleuthera Foundation (OEF) staff, Centre for Training and Innovation (CTI) instructors and administrators/programmatic staff of four of OEF’s partner organizations, Cancer Society of Eleuthera (CSE), Eleuthera Arts & Culture Centre (EACC), One Eleuthera Corporative Credit Union Limited (OECCUL) and The South Eleuthera Mission (SEM).

Employee Profile for July 2016: Meet Colin

Colin Moss, a man who views One Eleuthera Foundation as a catalyst for development and change. Originally from Lower Bogue, Colin followed his passion of helping develop the youth of The Bahamas by moving to Palmetto Point in 2010 and serving as Director of an alternative sentencing program with the Methodist Church.

Colin served as a deacon and mentor for those around him to trying to cultivate the potential within those around him. Colin joined the One Eleuthera family 2 years ago where he serves as a Community Outreach Coordinator.

Celebrating Five Years

of a Shared Vision

The Shared Vision for South Eleuthera, which was first commissioned by Friends of Lighthouse Point to develop a sustainable plan for Lighthouse Point and other special heritage and conservation sites on Eleuthera, inspired the formation of One Eleuthera.
